I sell a fairly complex product and I often end up on calls with engineers who ask very specific questions. I want to prepare better without spending half a day researching each account.

What's a good way to use AI before the call? For example, working out likely objections, or turning their website and job posts into questions I should ask.

This is a great use of AI because the research is the slow, repetitive part. A workflow that takes about 15 minutes:

  • Paste in what you can find: their product page, a few job posts for engineering roles, and any public docs or blog posts.
  • Ask for a snapshot: "From this text only, summarise what the company builds, the tools or technologies they mention, and what they seem to be investing in."
  • Ask for likely objections: "Given what we sell, list the five toughest questions an engineer at this company might ask, and what a good answer sounds like."
  • Ask for discovery questions: "Write eight open questions that would help me understand how they handle this today."

Keep one rule: tell it to use only the text you pasted and to say when something isn't there, so it doesn't invent facts about the company. Then read the output as a starting point, check any claim you plan to mention on the call, and trim the questions down to the three you actually care about.
